On Tuesday Jaco, one of ours professors, came to Stay Okay Hotel to teach us with a presentation something more about Biomimicry.
Now I’m going to tell you what I learned in that talk.
First of all I have to tell you Biomimicry's definition. Biomimicry is a new discipline that studies nature's best ideas and then imitates these designs and processes to solve human problems, looking at Nature as Model, Measure, and Mentor. It is a new way of viewing and valuing nature, based not on we can extract from the natural world, but what we can learn from it.
One of the most importants things that I have learned is that nature consume less energy than humans to reach the same objective.
There are already a lot of human inventions that are inspirated on nature like buildings ventilated like an anthill, solar panels inspirated on sunflowers...
To conclude, Jaco introduced us to the carpets world, since two hours later we continued our work in a carpet factory.
What is Biomimicry?
"Biomimicry is innovation inspired in nature"
