Ronald Ophuis

I have not presented my work this way before. For me, the audience consists of people from the visual arts. In this different context I tried to convey what I do in a different way. It is an amazing experience that we as artists were capable to contribute to a theoretical model, and that this model can also be applied on our work as well. I had given it some thought before, but now it appeared that my paintings are capable of functioning as a model for thinking. In the meeting with the scientists, who think technically, it was interesting to realize that my paintings want to evoke emotions. In the meeting this happened as part of the thinking process, and that was surprising to me. The interaction with Caroline Nevejan was important as feedback on my work and as translation between the different worlds.
