Starting on the 12th of November 2014, participants will study literature, explore sustainability initiatives and research the sustainability transition of the Dutch island of Texel. Between 12 and 16th of January 2015 all participants will work at Texel, with people from Texel. Results of the research are published on this site and a publication of the outcome will be given to Texel's sustainability initiatives.

Texel’s sustainability will be studied on two levels of analysis:
The system level gives context to the sub-system level. Research on the sub-system takes place each week for each group. Research on the Texel system level is divided among the 9 groups, in such a way that each group will do research on the Texel system level in two weeks. Every students studies literature and shared documents. Every student spends on average about 14 hrs/week on doing research: approx 4-6 hrs/week on the system level research; about 8-10 hrs/week on the sub-system level research.
All results of the research activities for the system Texel and for each of the sub-systems needs to be uploaded, edited and shared on this website.
In the bubble week on Texel you are expected to analyse linkages between your sub-systems as well as between your sub-system and the system level. This is visualized below.
