The mini workshop about sustainability information spreading made us think about ways to encourage the Texel farmer to go sustainable. We came up with a digital platform on which the farmer can provide input about things such as the type of land, the size, wildlife, water level etc. The digital platform will use this information to find suitable crops and cultivation techniques for the land of the farmer. The farmer can select crops he likes and the computer will generate a printed advice.
Besides the digital platform, there is also a demo piece of land with all different kinds of landscape types. This "showroom" can show the farmer how the techniques and crops are applied.
The learning environment should encourage farmers to make their business more sustainable. The digital platform also teaches how certain ways of cultivation can help to preserve the landscape.
